Montepulciano d’Abruzzo doc is one of the most prestigious red wines, in Italy. The incredible success of this wine, also abroad, depends on the excellent qualitative characteristics, but also on the constant search of quality. Montepulciano is a wine rich of body ruby colour shooted by violet reflections, a bit orange if aged. The smell is vinous, tenuous and pleasant; the taste is dry, soft, sapid and tannic. In the aged wine, smell becomes ethereal and takes rose, vanilla and liquorice’s smell. Montepulciano is good for the ageing, that, if made for two years in wood barrels, is called “reserve”.
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo doc is a variation of Montepulciano. It is obtained by a short maceration, just few hours, of Montepulciano’s must with peel. The result is a red cherry wine with an agreeable, delicate and fruity smell. The taste is dry, soft and harmonic, with a back taste of almond.
Trebiano d’Abruzzo doc is a wine of good quality that produces a perfumed white wine. Trebiano has a straw colour, a vinous and agreeable smell and a taste that can be sapid or dry.
