Abruzzoâs goldsmith production is characterized by filigreeâs realizations and by fusion, relief and chiselâs techniques. At present, filigree working prevails in Pescocostanzo, Sulmona and Guardiagrele, while in Scanno the micrifusion is preferred and it is used also silver.
Recurrent models are, for example the âciarcelleâ or the âsciaquajjeâ, earrings made in Pescocostanzo and Scanno, and the âPresentosaâ, a star shaped medallion, surrounded by filigreeâs arabesque.
In the centre of this jewel there is usually a heart or two united by a half-moon, loveâs symbol and promise and destined to lovers. |
